Now that we've had the talk about
investing in your footwear, let's talk about which shoes will get you the biggest bang for your buck. Literally. One of the most iconic silhouettes, and definitely an essential for the wardrobe is the pointed toe pump. It's a universally flattering shoe and ultra-classic. The pointed toe helps to elongate the leg as well as slenderize it (say goodbye to the plastic surgeon and hello to extra shoe funds!).
When searching for the Essentials in this category, make sure that the pair you end up buying does double duty. By this, I mean they make sense to wear at work, out socially and/or for special occasions. I bought my Valentino's two years ago and literally wear them all the time, with just about everything. Where you're able to add in versatility, you're able to save in the cost of having to buy fewer pairs. This will help to ease the conscience from the guilt of saying YES to high-quality footwear. (Aren't I great at justifying purchases?)
The one rule when it comes to color and style is to listen to your gut. While I find black and a metallic or leopard print to be the the most versatile, your attention may be captured by the
fire-red snakeskin. When you have that emotional connection to a color, go for it. If you love it, you'll find the ways to wear it.
